About the Owners:

Numinbah Valley Adventure trails was established in 1987 -88 by David Lyons on his return from working in central and north west  Queensland. Due to falling cattle prices and pending drought an alternative source of income was needed to maintain Yowgurrabah, a 2500 acre family owned cattle property in the Numinbah Valley. After much research, the decision was made to stay with what we knew and would complement and allow us to share the natural beauty that is Yowgurrabah. Since its inception, Numinbah trails has evolved to where it is today.

Kimberley started working at Numinbah trails as a junior and never left. She was raised on the family farm at Gilston. Animals, Horses were and still are Kimberley’s passion which is evident by the number of horses, dogs, cattle a pig called Hamlet and anything else that needs a home. David and Kimberley were married in 2005 and continue to operate Yowgurrabah and Numinbah Valley Adventure Trails.

Both David and Kimberley are long-time members of the rural fire brigade in Numinbah Valley and Gilston. David is the training and First officer of Gilston and Kimberley is Third officer and V C E rep and is training for her crew leaders.

Kimberley’s passion for horses has seen her competing in pony club, eventing, and now western pleasure with her horse prince and Tex, they make a formidable team providing a challenge to all those they compete against to date they have won or placed in most Halter events and now prince has become very competitive in ridden events.

As a yearling prince won his Hunter in hand at National level and placed consistently in halter at both state and national level.  He then went on as a 2 year old to go reserve national champion at halter and overall QLD State Champion 2 year old.   This year he has so far won his 3 year old National Halter champion with state show still to come. Kimberley now has another horse called Tex and hold QLD and National awards in ridden events

They have recently completed a diploma in business management. David is also has his work place trainer and assessor which allows training of students in horse related activities as well as certificate 2 in agriculture. Kimberley is currently studying an associate diploma in equine studies.
